Second open call for Application Experiments

Up to €60K funding, technical and business coaching available to support European companies to develop smart applications.

The second FED4SAE call for industrial projects is now open
14 FED4SAE members from ten countries are currently supporting six projects from the first call
The acceleration program started in September 2017.

GRENOBLE, France – May 29, 2018 – CEA-Leti, coordinator of the pan-European consortium FED4SAE, today announced that the 14 partners are continuing their support for European startups, small/medium enterprises (SMEs) and midcaps with the second open call for application experiments. Proposals for innovative cyber-physical system (CPS) and embedded system projects can be submitted from May 29. The deadline for applications is September 18, 2018, and applicants will be notified of whether their application has been successful on November 6, 2018.

“This is an unmissable opportunity for any European company wishing to transform their cyber-physical and embedded concepts into market-ready products and services,” said FED4SAE Coordinator Isabelle Dor. “FED4SAE provides everything from funding to technical and business coaching from the top research and innovation centers in Europe.”

Cyber physical systems (CPS) and embedded systems link the physical world (e.g. through sensors or actuators) with the virtual world of information processing. They are comprised of diverse constituent parts that work together to deliver a holistic function. These constituents may include software systems, communications technology, and sensors/actuators that interact with the real world, often including embedded technologies.

The second open call is aimed at companies that want to:

  • Develop novel and innovative smart products that will enable them to take a leading position in their target markets.
  • Exploit the most advanced technologies and industrialized solutions to link the physical world with the virtual world in combing hardware and software expertise.
  • Gain access to resources, competencies and save time in the development process.
  • Form part of a unique European ecosystem bringing together leading industrial companies, world-class research organizations, innovation accelerators and private investors.

Matchmaking companies with major CPS and embedded system platform providers and competence centers, FED4SAE provides a unique marketplace organized as a one-stop-shop, combining access to leading-edge industrial platforms with access to advanced technologies and testbeds. The project also offers support through expertise, know-how, coaching, design support, and technology transfer from our partners to enable rapid development and lower the entry costs for designing and optimizing the CPS solutions, leading to new business and innovation opportunities.

FED4SAE Application Experiments will receive relevant business and innovation management support – linking applicants to suppliers, well-connected business infrastructures and existing regional innovation hubs – to facilitate the industrialization of the developed solution even further.

The second open call will select projects based on their innovation potential and technical expertise, the maturity of the solution and the efficient management of the innovation to create a lasting impact with the developed solution.

Interested European startups, SMEs and mid-Caps are encouraged to review details of our platforms, advanced technologies and testbed on www.FED4SAE.eu and contact us directly (info@fed4sae.eu). Or they can contact our Networking Partners, who will be pleased to help applicants with registration, submitting proposals and matching applicants with the offers to that best suit their needs.
