February 1st-5th, 2021 – virtual event Session 6.8 “How STM32 Enables Digital Transformation in Industries“ organized by Marcello Coppola (STMicroelectronics France) and Antonio Lionetto (STMicroelectronics Italy),

One of the most demanding challenges for European industry is the digital transformation of Startups, SMEs and Midcaps. FED4SAE, a program funded by the EU as part of its Horizon 2020 initiative, facilitates access to leading technologies, competencies, and industrial platforms. The session speakers will demonstrate in a pragmatic way how the STM32 microcontroller and its ecosystem have enabled Bettair, Energica Motor Company, Safecility and Zannini to address technical challenges in Smart City, Building Safety, FIM MotoE™ World Cup and Industry4.0. You will learn more about these success stories and what STM32 really means for:

  • Bettair – who will present full cycle development of a complete solution to monitor in real-time the air quality of urban areas
  • Energica Motor Company – who will share The Energica LPWAN Low Power EV Battery Monitor System used in FIM MotoE™ World Cup
  • Safecility – who will present how to Enhance Building Safety across Europe through IoT Automation
  • Zannini – who will show an integrated system for monitoring and controlling industrial machines.

FED4SAE club launching day

FED4SAE Partners and Blumorpho launch their Innovation Club. The Innovation Day gathers a unique network of European Innovation Stakeholders providing the best access to technology, business and funding. Attendees will participate in a series of sessions: reverse pitching, networking, one-to-one meetings and technical workshops, which will help companies to boost their businesses and projects. EFECS 2020 – SAE booth and workshop

EFECS is the international forum with a focus on ‘Our Digital Future’ along the Electronic Components and Systems value chain in Europe. And Our Digital Future is now! Therefore the organisers of this event, AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA, EPoSS, ECSEL Joint Undertaking and the European Commission, in association with EUREKA and supported by BMBF, have joined forces to bring all stakeholders together online on 25-26 November 2020. This year’s event will be a bit different. We will meet online and together we will learn, discover and shape Our Digital Future while we network! From sessions on the COVID-19 crisis to a High Level Strategy, EFECS is going to inspire you virtually.

SAE – DigiFed First Network Expansion Event

17th November 2020 – Virtual Workshop

Co-organized with the SmartAnythingEverywhere (SAE) initiative, the DigiFed first network expansion workshop aims to foster and support the development and consolidation of SMEs across Europe by offering the possibilities to discuss, refine and explore the services provided by Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH). The workshop focuses on exchanging experiences between different Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs), particularly from the field Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). The different challenges faced by DIHs are discussed, including the development of operationally and financially sustainable services to support SMEs, the reaching out to strategic stakeholders, and the interaction with local, national and European eco-systems. The targeted outcome is to develop a collaboration roadmap to outline and establish strategies to exploit potential synergies. Moreover the perspective of sustainability is deeply discussed particularly from a European perspective. In addition, the different Innovation Actions under the SAE umbrella focused on CPS have also the opportunity to present their tools and strategy to support SMEs.

FED4SAE IoT European showcase

The FED4SAE Event is a two day event, day one – SMEs only – a workshop where the SMEs develop product/company videos; day two – a pitching event to a mixed room of investors, customers, academic community and broader industry players which include government and other key stakeholders. EFECS is the European Forum for Electronics Components and Systems, gathering industry, RTOs, EC actors, policy makers: “where Innovators meet and shape our Digital Future”. FED4SAE was invited and participated to the 5E workshop “Setting up the vision for European Electronics ecosystem convergence”.

FED4SAE 3RD CALL EVALUATION MEETING

April 9-10, 2019 in Santander, Spain

FED4SAE 3rd call evaluation meeting gathered all FED4SAE partners during 2 days to consolidate the evaluation of the submitted proposals, finally scored, classify and the select the proposals that will be granted and thus receive cascade funding for the implementation. This concluded FED4SAE 3 open calls with resulted in the selection of 32 cross-border application experiments that can be followed on the Application Experiments page.

March 25-29, 2019 in Firenze, Italy

DATE is the Design, Automation and Test in Europe Conference. FED4SAE booth promoted FED4SAE granted projects and their outputs, with a focus on ST Microelectronics and Digital Catapult joint work regarding the LORA testbed. FED4SAE organized the session 10.8 in the exhibition theatre: “Europe Digitization: Smart Anything Everywhere Initiative and FED4SAE, open calls and success stories” with the testimonial of two granted companies Energica Motor (MAMMUT project with ST, Digital Catapult and CSEM) and Alitec (Optilight Project with ST and BME).

EFECS is the European Forum for Electronics Components and Systems, gathering industry, RTOs, EC actors, policy makers. SAE booth offered the opportunity to promote FED4SAE and to take part in the Speakers’ Corner with a session dedicated to “Smart Anything Everywhere Initiative now: Open Calls of the Innovation Actions”.

DIH annual event

November 27-28, 2018 in Warsaw, Poland

The DIH annual event, organized by the EC, aims to reinforce the capacity of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) to support European companies in their digital transformation. SMEs, start-ups, research and technology organisations, DIHs and policy-makers from all around Europe are invited to participate. FED4SAE attended the event with the CSA Smart4Europe. Wegoto and their project CADIX were invited to take part in the exhibition and participated to the panel “Success stories from supported SMEs”. Our partner BME discussed their challenge and return of experience in the panel “The role of EU initiatives in developing fully operational Digital Innovation Hubs”.

SMART AND DIGITAL FUTURE VIENNA-BRNO-BRATISLAVA

SEPTEMBER 20, 2018 in Vienna, Austria

The Smart and Digital Future event organized by EEN focused on the adoption of digital technologies by manufacturing industry, highlighting SAE and I4MS initiative and running programs. It gathered participants mainly from Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia to promote matching and cross-border collaborations.

Hannover fair 2018

March 19-23, 2018 in Hannover, Germany

The Hanover Fair is the meeting place for the industry where companies from all over the world meet for 5 days. First global crossroads for industrial technologies, the HANNOVER MESSE is an ideal place to unveil innovative products in preview and to bring together all the key themes of the industrial added value chain in one place. The EC booth gave the opportunity to all SAE and I4MS innovation actions to promote their stories, inviting granted start-ups/SMEs/mid-caps/associations to showcase proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and innovative products under the EC branding.

FED4SAE has a booth and took part in matching session at TechnInnov 2018, big brokerage event gathering innovative start-ups, investors, decision makers from the region Ile-de-France.

HIPEAC 2018

January 22-24, 2018 in Manchester, UK

HIPEAC is a European network of almost 2,000 world-class computing systems researchers, industry representatives and students and HIPEAC conference is organized every year, presenting state-of-the-art on High-performance Embedded Architecture and Compilation. “CPS success story workshop” invited Sandro Delia (EC) to present “View of the European Commission for the future research in CPS”. This was illustrated by the presentation about “Roadmapping, Markets and Initiative”, the results of the innovation actions Gateone, EuroCPS and the promotion of coming open calls for Diatomic, Tetramax and FED4SAE. FED4SAE took part to the workshop TISU ‘Tetramax Workshop on Transfer to Industry and Start-Ups’, discussing the topic “ CPS solutions : from Innovation to Market”.

CSW HIPEAC week

October 25-27, 2017 in Stuttgart, Germany

CSW HIPEAC week is organized twice per year by HIPEAC on Computing Software, gathering computing-system researchers, industry representatives and students. FED4SAE was invited to participate to the session SAE-INNO organized by TETRAMAX to discuss the FED4SAE project and its open calls. The session was launched by Lorena Riveiro (EC) introducing the Smart Anyrhing everywhere initiative the moderator was Xavier Salazar Forn.
